We say it. We follow procedures for it. We train and test on it. As we pass more than 15 years since the terrorist attacks of 9\/11, the sands of time have begun to blur our perceived need for aviation security. I admit I fall into that way of thinking as well at work sometimes. And then I visited the World Trade Center site in NY and the 9\/11 National Memorial. More than 3000 people died that day due to lax aviation security. A few weeks later, I took my children to the Flight 93 National Memorial located in Pennsylvania. And I cried. I took my kids there, and of course it’s a humbling experience for them but they were born after 2001 so it doesn’t have as much relevance for them. If you don’t think business aviation is a target, you are mistaken. Terrorists have funding you wouldn’t believe, and think about about what a coup it would be if a bizjet or helicopter was used as a weapon.<\/p>\n
Follow your company security procedures, pay attention to things that don’t look right, and follow the slogan “If you see something, say something.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Security.
