CRM / Human Factors: Hazardous Attitudes

CRM / Human Factors: Hazardous Attitudes

The Crew Resource Management / Human Factors: Hazardous Attitudes module includes a review of the Pilot Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge (PHAK) on the Hazardous Attitudes of Anti-Authority, Impulsivity, Invulnerability, Macho, and Resignation. In this module, we define each Hazardous Attitude, detail recognizable symptoms, describe issues they can create, and review countermeasures to use. Situations where Hazardous Attitudes are more likely to effect decision making are also highlighted.

The training contents of this module are not required under Part 135. The module can be added to a Part 135 curriculum to mitigate the risk of hazardous attitudes.

This module is one of many options for Crew Resource Management / Human Factors training for pilots. See the CRM / Human Factors Training Modules table for all Crew Resource Management / Human Factors training options. This module complies with the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) training requirement for "Human Factors (HF) / Crew Resource Management (CRM)" defined in Chapter 8 of IS-BAO. The module also complies with the Business Aviation Safety Consortium (BASC) standards NX6 3.12.4.1 and 2, which require CRM / Human Factors training.
