Maintenance Resource Management / Human Factors

The Maintenance Resource Management / Human Factors module for Mechanics/Engineers and Line Service includes a review of the Hazardous Attitudes of Anti-Authority, Impulsivity, Invulnerability, Macho, and Resignation. We define each Hazardous Attitude, detail recognizable symptoms, describe issues they can create, and review countermeasures to use. Situations where Hazardous Attitudes are more likely to effect decision making are also highlighted. The concept of Normalization of Deviance (NOD) related to failure to follow procedures is reviewed and how NOD can be an individual or organizational issue.

This Maintenance Human Factors eLearning module is FAA-accepted for one hour of IA Renewal credit. FAA Course Acceptance Number: C IND-IM-151112-K-006-002.

 

This module can be used by Mechanics/Engineers and Line Service working for a Part 135 operator. The training complies with CFR 135.433 and FAA Advisory Circular (AC) 120-72A.

This module complies with the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) training requirement for "Human Factors (HF) / Crew Resource Management (CRM)" defined in Chapter 8 of IS-BAO. The module also complies with the Business Aviation Safety Consortium (BASC) standards NX6 3.12.4.1 and 2, which require CRM / Human Factors training.
