Washington, DC, December 29, 2015 — The Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) is pleased to announce that Advanced Aircrew Academy has developed an eLearning module for companies to train their employees that participate in the ACSF Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP). ASAP is an FAA/industry partnership that provides a near consequence-free environment whereby the participants can identify safety issues and report information that can be critical in identifying potential precursors to accidents. Advanced Aircrew Academy recently added 13 new eLearning modules to its library of web-based training, bringing the total number of modules available to over 50. The modules include training for the new one-half degree latitude spacing in the North Atlantic (RLatSM), Loss of Control–Inflight (LOC-I), and training on Aviation Safety Action Programs (ASAP). Our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) have been hard at work updating the modules with the latest changes to FAA Advisory Circulars, new FAA Safety Alert for Operators (SAFOs), FAA Information for Operators (InFOs), and new case studies to apply to the training material. Advanced Aircrew Academy announces a new International Standard for Business Aircraft Operators (IS-BAO) tool designed to assist operators in assessing annual changes to the Standard. Each year, International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) publishes a revised Standard. IS-BAO registered operators must be aware of, interpret, document, and implement the changes applicable to their operation. Interpreting what the new IS-BAO language means can require an advanced degree in IS-BAO, which is a resource not always readily available in busy flight departments. At the Partnership for Corporate Aviation Training (PCAT) Safety Smackdown, Advanced Aircrew Academy presented a check from the successful Safety Clickdown program to fund PCATs scholarship program. PCAT is proud to work with the National Flight Academy providing scholarships to the Ambition program for top high school students interested in a career in aviation. Scholarship recipients live for six days aboard the world’s largest simulated aircraft carrier, a facility surrounded by advanced technology, flight simulators, and virtual reality games. The first Ohio Regional Business Aviation Association (ORBAA) golf outing was held June 27 at the Shamrock Golf Course in Powell, Ohio. Over 40 golfers participated in the 18 hole scramble where all proceeds benefited the 2015 ORBAA scholarship. ORBAA raised over $2500 supporting a primary goal of Workforce Development. Advanced Aircrew Academy was proud to be a lead sponsor of the event. Advanced Aircrew Academy announces the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) FAASTeam (AFS-850) has approved their Part 43 FAR Review online training module for FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) renewal credit. Advanced Aircrew Academy announces the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Flight Technologies and Procedures Division, Future Flight Technologies Branch (AFS-430) has approved their Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) online training module. Previously, operators have had their local FSDO review Advanced Aircrew Academy’s ADS-B online training module and approve the training for the issuance Letter of Authorization (LOA) or Ops Spec A353. With the approval from AFS-430, the process has been streamlined and operators that use Advanced Aircrew Academy’s ADS-B module do not require local FAA review of the training program.
