This training module is designed to equip all personnel working in hangar environments with essential knowledge and skills to maintain a safe and healthy workplace. Focused on the unique challenges and hazards associated with hangar operations, this module emphasizes the importance of safety protocols, risk management, and compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

This module supplements the Ramp module for maintenance technicians and others working in the hangar and it can be customized to your process and procedures.

Standards-29 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) 1910 is the OSH standard for the General Industry, including aviation. It regulates health and safety guidelines in the aviation industry as a whole. Although the OSH Act does not apply to employees or flight deck crew on an aircraft in operation, it does apply to all of their duties leading up to the cockpit door, including loading bags and walking through the hangar. OSH standards compliance is an integral component of a Safety Management System.

The module is responsive to the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) training requirement for "complying with all national and local occupational health and safety laws and requirements" defined in Chapter 9 of IS-BAO. The Business Aviation Safety Consortium (BASC) standard requires training to comply with State occupational safety and health regulations.
